On August 23, the Jiangsu Education and Industry Dialogue and Matchmaking Forum–Internet of Things Innovation Forum and Industry-University-Research Achievement Matchmaking Conference was successfully held at our university. This event was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the China Institute of Communications, and organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Internet of Things Technology and Applications, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Wuxi University, China (Wuxi) Internet of Things Research Institute, and Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation Promotion Center. Co-organizers included the Internet of Things Committee of the China Institute of Communications, the Internet of Things Expert Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the Internet of Things College of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the *Journal of Internet of Things*, the Wuxi Internet of Things Innovation and Development Research Association, the National University Science Park for Internet of Things of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the Wuxi National University Science Park for Sensors, and Wuxi Chenzhi Internet of Things Technology Co., Ltd.

More than 300 academicians and experts, leaders from relevant government departments, industry leaders, representatives from universities and research institutes, representatives from relevant enterprises, and representatives from industry associations attended the event, including Wang Guangji, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Scientist of the Jiangsu Provincial Internet of Things Collaborative Innovation Center, and Deputy Director of the National Internet of Things Collaborative Innovation Outstanding Achievements Evaluation Committee; You Xiaohu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chief Scientist of the Jiangsu Provincial Internet of Things Collaborative Innovation Center, and Director of the National Wireless Communication Collaborative Innovation Center; Zhou Jiuhua, Second-level Inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; Qin Yongxin, Vice Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People's Government; Song Tong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Institute of Communications; Guo Yufeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Zhang Yonghong, President of our university; Zhu Hongbo, Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Internet of Things Technology and Application Collaborative Innovation Center and former Vice President of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Li Ye from Imperial College London; Lin Jinchao, Vice President of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Gong Hong, Vice President of Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications; Bao Zhihua, former Vice President of Nantong University; and Wang Mei, former Vice President of Guilin University of Technology.

In his address, Zhou Jiuhua, a second-level inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, stated that industry-university-research cooperation is an important measure to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, base itself on China's national conditions, leverage the advantages of the new national system, develop new productive forces, and achieve high-level self-reliance and high-quality development. Faced with a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, we must seize opportunities, increase the intensity of industry-university-research collaborative innovation, cultivate and strengthen emerging industries, proactively plan and build future industries, and improve the modern industrial system.

Qin Yongxin, Vice Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People's Government, delivered a speech, stating that Wuxi is firmly committed to developing the Internet of Things (IoT) as a landmark industry. After 15 years of exploration and development, Wuxi has forged a development path driven by demand, propelled by application-driven technological progress, and fostered by ecosystem development to promote industrial agglomeration. Wuxi will further implement the strategies of invigorating the nation through science and education, strengthening the nation through talent, and driving development through innovation, and comprehensively promote the integrated reform of the education, science and technology, and talent systems and mechanisms. This event has built a bridge for communication and collaboration among universities, research institutions, and enterprises, promoting the integration and sharing of industry-academia-research resources in the IoT field, and is of great significance to promoting the high-quality development of Wuxi's IoT industry.

President Zhang Yonghong stated that Wuxi University, as a higher education institution deeply rooted in Wuxi, has always taken serving local economic development as its mission. It proactively targets Jiangsu's ten strategic emerging industries and Wuxi's "465" modern industrial clusters, meticulously planning its "5+5" discipline and professional clusters, with a focus on developing disciplines such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and integrated circuits, achieving cluster integration between its disciplines and professional clusters and local industry chains. By hosting this conference, we can jointly explore the latest developments in IoT technology, share successful cases of industry-academia-research integration, promote the transformation and application of innovative achievements, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of the IoT industry in the province and even the whole country.

At the meeting, the IoT Collaborative Innovation Project Incubation Base, jointly established by Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the China (Wuxi) IoT Research Institute, the Wuxi IoT Innovation Promotion Center (hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Center), and Wuxi University, was officially unveiled. This base aims to accelerate the localization of scientific and technological innovation achievements and further enhance the IoT's innovation source capacity and resource incubation capabilities. Eight industry-university-research projects were signed on-site, including the IoT Monitoring Equipment Security Protection Joint Laboratory Project, the IoT Technology Joint Laboratory Project, and the Smart Transportation and Brain-Inspired Intelligence Joint Laboratory Project. The implementation of these projects will inject vitality into Wuxi's industrial development, build a high ground for collaborative development among government, industry, academia, and research, and promote a vibrant situation of joint attraction and cultivation of outstanding talents, joint construction and sharing of innovation platforms, and joint research and sharing of scientific and technological achievements.

At the event, 20 outstanding achievements in Internet of Things (IoT) technological innovation were also released, including a WiFi-based human respiratory sensing system, a 6G ubiquitous wireless channel simulator and simulator, and intelligent design of a compact circularly polarized antenna based on improved optimization algorithms. The unveiling of these innovative projects and achievements not only demonstrated the enormous potential and broad prospects of IoT technology but also inspired more enterprises and individuals to devote themselves to the research and application of IoT technology, jointly promoting the prosperous development of the IoT industry.

The "Pilot Program" is an action plan jointly created by the Jiangsu Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center and Promotion Center for IoT Technology and Application. It focuses on four categories of projects: talent development, platform empowerment and efficiency enhancement, industrial innovation research, and industry-academia-research integration. The program aims to fully leverage the hub role of the national-level IoT cluster promotion organization to guide and support my country's IoT industry towards the highest end of the global value chain. During the "Pilot Program" IoT project results roadshow, Cheng Zijing, Chief Researcher of Aerospace Hengxing Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhang Chengwen, Associate Professor of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, shared their insights on the development and application of high-throughput satellite IoT base stations and the key technology research and verification of a new LoRa-V2X communication system for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication systems, respectively, opening up new paths for the in-depth application of IoT technology.

During the special report session on IoT industry applications and investment and financing, Wang Bin, Vice President of Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., provided an in-depth analysis of the development trends and challenges of the smart IoT industry, offering valuable insights for the future development of the industry. Zu Lixiang, Deputy General Manager of Beihang Investment Co., Ltd., offered an investment perspective, advocating for becoming "farmers" in the era of scientific and technological innovation, emphasizing the crucial role of scientific entrepreneurship in driving innovation in the IoT industry.

Activating innovation and empowering high-quality development of industrial clusters with scientific and technological achievements. This grand event was not only a concentrated showcase of innovative achievements but also a profound exploration of the integration path of industry, academia, and research in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT). In the future, our university will establish a higher-level platform for in-depth cooperation between industry, academia, and research, allowing more scientific and technological achievements to move from "bookshelves" to "shelves," and from laboratories to factories, so that the flowers of science and technology can bear more fruitful industrial results, injecting strong momentum into Wuxi's high-quality development with new productive forces.
